Services · Integrative & Holistic Psychiatry

Whole-person psychiatry. Rigorous, not wishful.

Integrative psychiatry means treating the whole person — mind, body, sleep, stress, and the life around them — with the same evidence standard we bring to everything else. Not alternative medicine instead of good psychiatry. Real psychiatry, widened to include the levers that actually move mood and cognition.

What integrative & holistic means here

It's a both/and, not an either/or. We use the full toolkit of modern psychiatry — accurate diagnosis, medication when it helps, evidence-based therapy — and we take seriously the things conventional visits often rush past: sleep, movement, nutrition, stress physiology, breath, attention, and meaning. "Holistic" doesn't mean unproven. It means we don't pretend the rest of your life stops at the office door.

Mindfulness & mind-body

Attention is trainable, and that matters clinically. We bring mindfulness and breath-based practices into care for anxiety, rumination, and stress — practical, secular, and matched to what you'll actually do, not a prescription to "just meditate." For patients who want it, we fold in mind-body skills alongside medication and therapy, and coordinate with the right teacher or program when deeper practice is the goal.

Lifestyle medicine

Sleep, exercise, nutrition, light, and substances are first-line psychiatric interventions with a real and growing evidence base — and they interact with everything else in your plan. We work these as part of treatment, not as a lecture at the end of the visit. See our lifestyle medicine page →

How it fits together

Most people don't need to choose between "medication" and "natural." They need a plan that uses each tool where it's strongest — and a clinician paying attention to the whole picture over the long arc. That integration is the work, and it's what we've done since the practice was founded in 2013.

Covered by your plan

Integrative care here is still psychiatry — covered by in-network benefits (Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, most out-of-state BCBS). We verify your specific copay in writing before your first visit.
